Rules about Valuations

(Deuteronomy 25:13-16)

1And the LORDspakeunto Moses,saying,2Speakunto the childrenof Israel,and sayunto them, When a manshall make a singularvow,the persons[shall be] for the LORDby thy estimation.3And thy estimationshall be of the malefrom twentyyearsoldeven unto sixtyyearsold,even thy estimationshall be fiftyshekelsof silver,after the shekelof the sanctuary.4And if it [be] a female,then thy estimationshall be thirtyshekels.5And if [it be] from fiveyearsoldeven unto twentyyearsold,then thy estimationshall be of the maletwentyshekels,and for the femaletenshekels.6And if [it be] from a montholdeven unto fiveyearsold,then thy estimationshall be of the malefiveshekelsof silver,and for the femalethy estimation[shall be] threeshekelsof silver.7And if [it be] from sixtyyearsoldand above;if [it be] a male,then thy estimationshall be fifteenshekels,and for the femaletenshekels.8But if he be poorerthan thy estimation,then he shall presenthimself beforethe priest,and the priestshall valuehim; according tohis abilitythat vowedshall the priestvaluehim.

9And if [it be] a beast,whereof men bringan offeringunto the LORD,all that [any man] givethof such unto the LORDshall be holy.10He shall not alterit, nor changeit, a goodfor a bad,or a badfor a good:and if he shall at allchangebeastfor beast,then it and the exchangethereof shall be holy.11And if [it be] any uncleanbeast,of which they do not offera sacrificeunto the LORD,then he shall presentthe beastbeforethe priest:12And the priestshall valueit, whetherit be goodorbad:as thou valuestit, [who art] the priest,so shall it be.13But if he will at allredeemit, then he shall adda fifth[part] thereof unto thy estimation.

14And when a manshall sanctifyhis house[to be] holyunto the LORD,then the priestshall estimateit, whether it be goodor bad:as the priestshall estimateit, so shall it stand.15And if he that sanctifiedit will redeemhis house,then he shall addthe fifth[part] of the moneyof thy estimationunto it, and it shall be his.

16And if a manshall sanctifyunto the LORD[some part] of a fieldof his possession,then thy estimationshall be accordingto the seedthereof: an homerof barleyseed[shall be valued] at fiftyshekelsof silver.17If he sanctifyhis fieldfrom the yearof jubile,according to thy estimationit shall stand.18But if he sanctifyhis fieldafterthe jubile,then the priestshall reckonunto him the moneyaccording tothe yearsthat remain,even unto the yearof the jubile,and it shall be abatedfrom thy estimation.19And if he that sanctifiedthe fieldwill in any wiseredeemit, then he shall addthe fifth[part] of the moneyof thy estimationunto it, and it shall be assuredto him.20And if he will not redeemthe field,or if he have soldthe fieldto anotherman,it shall not be redeemedany more.21But the field,when it goeth outin the jubile,shall be holyunto the LORD,as a fielddevoted;the possessionthereof shall be the priest's.22And if [a man] sanctifyunto the LORDa fieldwhich he hath bought,which [is] not of the fieldsof his possession;23Then the priestshall reckonunto him the worthof thy estimation,[even] unto the yearof the jubile:and he shall givethine estimationin that day,[as] a holy thingunto the LORD.24In the yearof the jubilethe fieldshall returnunto him of whom it was bought,[even] to him to whom the possessionof the land[did belong].25And all thy estimationsshall be according to the shekelof the sanctuary:twentygerahsshall be the shekel.

26Only the firstlingof the beasts,which should be the LORD'Sfirstling,no manshall sanctifyit; whether [it be] ox,or sheep:it [is] the LORD'S.27And if [it be] of an uncleanbeast,then he shall redeem[it] according to thine estimation,and shall adda fifth[part] of it thereto: or if it be not redeemed,then it shall be soldaccording to thy estimation.

28Notwithstanding no devoted thing,that a manshall devoteunto the LORDof all that he hath, [both] of manand beast,and of the fieldof his possession,shall be soldor redeemed:every devoted thing[is] mostholyunto the LORD.29None devoted,which shall bedevotedof men,shall be redeemed;[but] shall surelybe put to death.

Instruction on Tithes

(Deuteronomy 14:22-29;Deuteronomy 26:1-15;Nehemiah 13:10-14)

30And all the titheof the land,[whether] of the seedof the land,[or] of the fruitof the tree,[is] the LORD'S:[it is] holyunto the LORD.31And if a manwill at allredeem[ought] of his tithes,he shall addthereto the fifth[part] thereof.32And concerning the titheof the herd,or of the flock,[even] of whatsoever passethunder the rod,the tenthshall be holyunto the LORD.33He shall not searchwhether it be goodor bad,neither shall he changeit: and if he changeit at all,then both it and the changethereof shall be holy;it shall not be redeemed.

34These [are] the commandments,which the LORDcommandedMosesfor the childrenof Israelin mountSinai.
