(2 Timothy 1:1-2) 1Paul,an apostleof JesusChristbythe commandmentof GodourSaviour,andLordJesusChrist,[whichis] ourhope; 2Unto Timothy,[my] ownsoninthe faith:Grace,mercy,[and] peace,fromGodourFatherandJesusChristourLord. Warning against False Teaching 3AsI besoughttheeto abide stillatEphesus,when I wentintoMacedonia,thatthou mightest chargesomethat they teachnoother doctrine,4Neithergive heedto fablesandendlessgenealogies,whichministerquestions,ratherthangodlyedifyingwhichis infaith:[so do].5Nowthe endof the commandmentischarityout ofa pureheart,and[of] a goodconscience,and[of] faithunfeigned:6From whichsomehaving swervedhave turned asideuntovain jangling;7Desiringto beteachers of the law;understandingneitherwhatthey say,norwhereofthey affirm. 8Butwe knowthatthe law[is] good,ifa manuseitlawfully;9Knowingthis,thatthe lawisnotmadefor a righteous man,butfor the lawlessanddisobedient,for the ungodlyandfor sinners,for unholyandprofane,for murderers of fathersandmurderers of mothers,for manslayers,10For whoremongers,for them that defile themselves with mankind,for menstealers,for liars,for perjured persons,andif there be anyother thingthat is contraryto sounddoctrine;11Accordingto the gloriousgospelof the blessedGod,whichwas committed tomytrust.
