The Light of the Gospel
1Therefore seeingwe havethisministry,aswe have received mercy,we faintnot;2Buthave renouncedthe hidden thingsof dishonesty,notwalkingincraftiness,norhandlingthe wordof Goddeceitfully;butby manifestationof the truthcommendingourselvestoeveryman'sconsciencein the sightof God.3Butifourgospelbehid,it ishidtothem that are lost:4Inwhomthe godof thisworldhath blindedthe mindsof them which believe not,lestthe lightof the gloriousgospelof Christ,whoisthe imageof God,should shineunto them.5Forwe preachnotourselves,butChristJesusthe Lord;andourselvesyourservantsforJesus'sake.6ForGod,whocommandedthe lightto shineout ofdarkness,hath shinedinourhearts,to[give] the lightof the knowledgeof the gloryof Godinthe faceof JesusChrist.

7Butwe havethistreasureinearthenvessels,thatthe excellencyof the powermay beof God,andnotofus.8[We are] troubledonevery side,yetnotdistressed;[we are] perplexed,butnotin despair;9Persecuted,butnotforsaken;cast down,butnotdestroyed;10Alwaysbearing aboutinthe bodythe dyingof the LordJesus,thatthe lifealsoof Jesusmight be made manifestinourbody.11For wewhichlivearealwaydelivereduntodeathforJesus'sake,thatthe lifealsoof Jesusmight be made manifestinourmortalflesh.12Sothendeathworkethinus,butlifeinyou.

16For which causewe faintnot;butthoughouroutwardmanperish,yetthe inward[man] is reneweddaybyday.17Forourlightaffliction,whichis but for a moment,workethfor usa farmore exceeding[and] eternalweightof glory;18Whilewelooknotatthe things which are seen,butat the things which arenotseen:forthe things which are seen[are] temporal;butthe things which arenotseen[are] eternal.
