deep researchを使うと必ず一回はリサーチの方針を固めるための質問を聞き返してくるので、「具体的には～」の手前で区切って2回に分けて投稿した。この聞き返してくる質問（具体的に調べることの例示）によって「ああそういうのを調べるのもいいね」ってヒントになったりするので、自分で直接使うと使い勝手もちょっと変わるかもしれない。
シェアしたページからは見れないけど、どういうふうに調べていってるのか推論過程が表示されている。ChatGPTの言語設定によってその言語も変わるものの、それが結果に影響するのかは不明瞭だ（使っている印象ではただの飾りっぽくも見える）。仮に影響するとしたら、少なくともdeep research用のモデル（OpenAIはこれ専用のモデルがあると述べている）だと日本語の拙さが若干漏れ出ているので、言語設定は英語のままでいいや…という気持ちになった。

――『NUROアクセス』は法人にとってたいへん魅力的だと思います。では、『NURO 光』といった個人向けと法人向けの回線の違いを教えてください。
渡邉：回線速度は両者とも「下り最大2Gbps /上り最大1Gbps」なのですが、法人向けの回線には個人向けの回線にはない帯域確保やSLA（ServiceLevelAgreement）があり、サポート体制もより充実しています。つまり、個人向けの回線以上に”安定した稼働”を保証しています。
また、ONU（回線終端装置）にも違いがあります。個人向け回線の『NURO 光』の場合はONUにルーター機能が付与されており、ブリッジモードにできないようになっています。しかし、法人向けの『NUROアクセス』ではONUがブリッジモードになっているので、ご提供するルーターのスペックに左右されることなく、回線速度を最大限に活用いただけるメリットがあります。
――やはり、法人回線の方が、遅くなったら困る、落ちて困るといった場面を作らないよう準備がされているのですね。
渡邉：そこは万全を尽くしています。インターネット回線の世界では、実は「下限値の速度を担保する」ということに最もコストがかかります。コンシューマー向けだと、「最大何Gbps」等の広告が展開されていますが、そういったことよりも下限値をしっかり確保することが、ビジネスの世界では特に重要だと考えられています。
例えば、事務所でインターネットを利用していると、通信速度は速いことが当たり前で、利用者の皆さんは何も気にしていないと思います。しかし、速度が低下して1Mbpsを下回ったりすると、おそらく利用者は速度の低下に気づきますし、仕事にも影響が出てきます。
そういう意味でいうと、上り下り最低10Mbps以上の帯域確保ができるのは、『NUROアクセス 』の一番のウリだと思っています。

――法人が『NUROアクセス』を利用するには、どんなプロセスが必要ですか？
渡邉：まずお申し込みいただいて、その後に下見・工事…というのが基本的な流れです。関東では平時で1～2ヶ月、それ以外のエリアに関しては、3～4ヶ月を標準納期とさせていただいています。ただ現在は、社会情勢もあって『NUROアクセス』へのお問い合わせを多くいただいており、申し訳ないのですが標準納期より時間がかかってしまうケースもあります。

――『NUROアクセス』の他の強み、アピールポイントも教えていただけますか？
渡邉：面白いところは、スタンダード、プレミアムプランではONU（回線終端装置）までは下り最大2Gbpsで提供し、ONUにて最大1Gbpsの2ポートに分岐しています。この2ポートは物理的にも論理的（IPサブネット）にも分かれているため、「1契約で、使える回線が2本ある」と言えます。
実際、『NUROアクセス』を導入いただいたお客様のケースで多いのは、固定IPアドレスが付与される「LAN1」は業務用として執務スペースで使用し、「LAN2」の方はゲスト用Wi-Fi等として開放するようなケースです。
――障害に強いことが『NUROアクセス』の採用理由になったという事例を拝見しました。耐障害性についてはいかがですか？
渡邉：もちろん、障害についても十分に対策するとともに、お客様サポートにも力を入れています。スタンダードプラン以上では24時間365日対応のオンサイト保守サポートを用意していて、また1社に対して営業担当1人がつくことで、キメ細かいアフターフォローを実現できる体制を整えています。
――『NUROアクセス』は非常に「ローコスト」なことでも話題です。法人向けの高スペックな回線を、これだけ安く提供できる理由を教えてください。
渡邉：2013年4月に法人向けのICTソリューション『NURO Biz』サービスがはじまり、同時に『NUROアクセス』の提供もスタートしました。当初から他社サービスをベンチマークしていたことが、「高品質でローコスト」を実現できた要因だと考えています。最近では、ベストエフォートとギャランティを組み合わせたハイブリッド型のサービスを多く見ますが、『NUROアクセス』はそれらのハイブリッド型のサービスと比較しても、非常にリーズナブルではないでしょうか。
さらに、スペックに関しても、「NUROアクセススタンダード」については上り下り最低10Mbps以上の帯域確保を行うとともに、速度の平均値を計測し、結果を公表することで、自信をもって回線の品質をお伝えしています。
――速度を公表されている事例は少ないと思います。利用者からすると導入前に「わかる」ことは安心に繋がりますね。
渡邉：実際に、法人のお客様が回線を切り替えることはかなり勇気がいることです。「価格が安くなっても、本当に大丈夫か？速度は出るのか？」と不安に思われるケースも多くあります。そのようなときに平均速度を公開していたり、下限値の保証があったりするのは「かなり参考になる」と、実際にご導入いただいたお客様からも伺っています。
検討時に、定量的なデータに基づいて上申できることも、喜んでいただけているポイントのひとつだと評価しています。
――Webサイトを拝見すると、大学、公共機関、企業と、かなり幅広い業種で採用されています。実際にどのような業界や企業で導入されることが多いのでしょうか？
渡邉：官公庁から大学、企業も、規模でいうとSOHOからエンタープライズまで、幅広くご利用いただいています。あえていうなら、情報通信業が割合としては多く、従業員数では100～300名規模の企業様で導入いただくことが多いです。また、業種や規模によらず、動画コンテンツなどの制作や編集をしているような、データ通信量が多い企業様にご利用いただいています。
――やはり、回線速度に課題を感じている情報通信企業が中心ということですか？
渡邉：基本的にはそうですが、今やすべての業種で、どうしても「インターネット」は必要です。例えば不動産業や自動車販売業では、物件や自動車の写真だけではなく、Webサイトで動画を公開して情報発信をする機会が増えています。今後、どのような業界であっても動画で情報を発信することが主流になっていくので、幅広い業種で回線速度だけでなく、品質も求められる時代になっていくでしょう。
――たしかに。『NUROアクセス』の導入の中心は、やはりリプレイスでしょうか？
渡邉：そうですね。「回線の速度が遅くて困っている」という理由で、当社にご相談をいただくことが一番多いです。
COVID-19の影響でテレワークが増え、Web会議も一般的になりました。しかし回線速度が安定していないと会議が中断してしまいます。Web会議が普及したこと、また安全かつ快適に社内システムを利用するためのインフラ整備という面で、通信回線の重要度が企業の中で一気に高まりつつあるようです。
インターネットのトラフィック量は年々増え続けています。総務省のWebサイトで『情報通信白書』によると、令和元年版では、2018年のデータ量に対して2021年はほぼ2倍になると予測されていました。

渡邉：新型コロナ禍の時代にあって、多くの人々が業務を「インターネット上で」行うことになり、今後さらにトラフィックが拡大していくことが想定されます。企業も、公共・教育機関もネット回線の速度や品質を再検討し、さらなる高速化や安定化を求める流れになっているのかもしれません。
そんなトラフィックが激増するテレワーク時代でも、『NUROアクセス』なら安定して確実に接続できることは大きなメリットとだと確信しています。
――『NUROアクセス』の導入事例に、ホテルのWi-Fiサービスの強化に取り組まれたことが記されていました。今後は、こういった取り組みも増やしていくのでしょうか？
渡邉：ホテルや、貸会議室といったお客様も最近増えています。出張でホテルに行ったり、会議室に入ったりした時にWi-Fi速度が遅いことは、お客様満足度の低下に繋がってしまいます。ホテルや会議室に限らず、カフェや学校など、公共の場で使えるインターネットへの注目度は上がっていくと考えています。
以下はカーネギー国際平和基金による投稿の抜粋・超訳です。日本であまりキチンと指摘されていないと感じていたので気になる部分をテキトーに抜き出してテキトーに訳してみました。先日のQUAD会談でモリソン首相から日本へはフランスより先に事前通告があったとの報道でしたが、政府内で日本としての反応をどれほど検討したのでしょうか。対北朝鮮では豪州のそれを認めるのは悪手のような気がしますが・・・

AUKUS同盟が核不拡散に果たす役割については、少数の核専門家がtwitter上で論を交わしている一方で、大多数は大戦略の議論に気を取られてしまっている。核専門家の間でも、同盟が核不拡散に及ぼす影響がどれだけあるか、そしてその与える影響が負のものかについては議論が分かれている。
私の評価では、AUKUSの原潜取引は核不拡散にとって深刻かつ負の影響を及ぼす。豪州が原潜を運用することは、IAEAの定める核原料の査察システムから核原料を取り除く「抜け穴」を利用する、最初の核兵器非保有国が出現したことを意味する。私は豪州それ自体がこの原料を悪用するとは思わないが、この抜け穴の利用が危険な前例を作り出すことを心配している。将来、核保有を企む国々は海事用原子炉を隠れ蓑として使うことができるようになるだろう。
2002年、ジョージブッシュ政権はテヘランに対して「ウランの濃縮と再処理活動を破棄せよ」と勧告した...私にとって、日本やドイツ、オランダといった核兵器非保有国が濃縮プログラムを行っていることは脅威では無い...だが、イランは、自国を日本と比較することによってこのダブルスタンダードの隙を突き、この「濃縮する権利」を主張した。この主張は功を奏した。欧州においてさえ、イランに濃縮を辞めさせよという主張を支持する国はなかった。特にドイツは、イランに濃縮プログラムを破棄させることに強行に抵抗した - それは恐らく自国もウラニウム濃縮を行っており、将来的に自国が同様の圧力にさらされることを恐れてのことだった。結果、2006年、合衆国は安保理決議において濃縮プログラムを破棄するのではなく、「停止」するよう変更した。
多くのアメリカ人の読者は、「だからどうした？安保理が不拡散を強制できないのであれば、合衆国が、必要とあれば単独で、制裁もしくは軍事行動をもって不拡散を強制するだろう」と考えるかもしれない。
この反応は近視眼的である。米国による制裁はより幅広い国々からの同意があってこそより効果がある。実際、合衆国の制裁に正統性がないと受け取られた場合は多数にのぼり、今後中期的にドルに変わる国際基軸通貨が出現する可能性がある以上、合衆国単独の政策の効果は低くなると予想される。
NPT条約は核兵器非保有国に原子炉を搭載した艦船を建造・運用することを禁じていない。だが現実的には、IAEAは海事用原子炉に保障措置(セーフガード)をすることができない(その位置が秘匿されアクセスできない潜水艦は特にそうだ)。結果として、IAEAは包括的保障措置協定(Comprehensive SafeguardsAgreement)において、核兵器非保有国に「禁止されていない軍事的活動」、つまり海事用原子炉のためなら保障措置から核原料を取り除くことを許している。
これは明白で憂慮されるIAEA保障措置の抜け穴である。だが今日までは、海事用原子炉は核兵器保有国とNPT条約の非批准国によってのみ運用されてきた。包括的保障措置協定が約50年前に起草されてから、非核兵器保有国がこの抜け穴を利用しようとしたことはない(かつてブラジルとカナダを含む少数国が、真剣に検討したことはある)。
にも関わらず、この抜け穴が核保有を企む国によって利用される恐れは常にあった。実際に2018年、イランはIAEAに「将来的に海事用原子炉を建造する」計画があると通知した。その上で、もしイランが実際にこの手段に出れば、ロシアと中国を含む国々からの制裁、あるいは軍事行動さえも含めた深刻なバックラッシュ にあっていただろうし、それがイランの行動をおそらく抑止したのだと考えられる - 少なくとも、これまでは。
AUKUS原潜取引により、この潜在的なバックラッシュは弱まったと考えられる。もし豪州が実際に核原料を保障措置から取り除けば、このバックラッシュは更に弱くなるだろう。従って将来において、核兵器を取得しようとする国 -イランであれ他であれ - は、豪州の先例に倣うことにより、核原料をセーフガードから取り除く費用を許容可能なうちに抑えられると計算するようになるだろう。
「豪州はイランでもブラジルでもない」は全く正しい評価であると同時に、国際外交においては殆ど無関係の議論である。世界の残りの多くの国々は、豪州に海事用原子炉の取得という抜け穴を許す一方で、合衆国の敵対国が同様の行動に出ることを罰する行動をダブルスタンダードだと考えるだろう。従って、国際的な制裁執行や合衆国独自の単独行動に強く反対することになるだろう。結果として、AUKSでの原潜取引は保障措置の抑止力を低下させ、核拡散を引き起こす恐れが高まることになる。

アフガニスタンというと、日本では人道的支援やODA（政府開発援助）の話が中心で、最近の情勢がどうなっているかという報道がほとんどない。なのでちょっと書いてみたい。
もうずいぶん昔の話だが、2001年9月11日にニューヨークの同時多発テロがあった直後、アメリカはアフガニスタンに侵攻してタリバンをパキスタンに追いやったのだった。
タリバンとはパキスタンのマドラサ（イスラムの学校）発の運動で、1990年代末にはアフガニスタンを掌握していた。
なぜアメリカがタリバンと戦ったかというと、アルカーイダ（同時多発テロを主導）の中心人物だったウサーマ・ビン・ラディン（2011年にパキスタンで殺害）を、タリバンがかくまっていたからだった。当時のブッシュ政権はテロとの戦い（TheWaron Terror）を標ぼうして、それに参加しない国は敵として侵攻もやむなしという国防戦略をとっていた。NATOの加盟国から軍隊がアフガニスタンに行ってタリバンと戦争をしていた。
タリバンは滅びていない。それどころかアフガニスタン国内で着実に支配を拡げつつある。一方、アメリカを中心とするNATO軍は今年（2021年）の5月までに完全撤退を目指している。（日本ではあまり報道されないだけで、）この間ずっと戦争は続いていた。
アメリカにとってアフガニスタンでの戦争は史上最長の戦争になったが、負けたという見方が強まっている。戦費の負担はアメリカにとってずっと重荷だった。オバマ大統領は2014年に多くのアメリカ軍を撤退させたが、完全撤退にはならなかった。アフガニスタン軍を育てて、アフガニスタン人に自分たちでタリバンと戦ってもらおうというもくろみだったのだが、これはあまりうまく行っていない。毎年アメリカがアフガニスタン軍の費用の4分の3（50億ドルぐらい）を注ぎ込んでやらないと戦えないからだ。
トランプ大統領は去年の2月末にタリバンとの和平交渉をまとめたことになっている。ことになっている、というのは、その内容がかなり怪しいからだ。アフガニスタンの国土をアメリカとその同盟国(allies)の安全を脅かす活動に使わないこと、タリバンと現アフガニスタン政府が和平交渉を行うこと、をタリバンに誓約させるかわりに、アメリカは今後一切アフガニスタンの国内問題に介入しないこととしている。
これは実質的に逃げを打っているのであって、NATO軍が去った後、これまでの努力は水泡に帰してタリバンがアフガニスタンを支配するのではないかという見方が強まっている。
アメリカとタリバンがまとめた合意にしたがって、去年の秋からカタールのドーハでアフガニスタン政府ととタリバンの和平交渉が続いていた。今月の5日からこの交渉は再開する予定だ。
2001年末にパキスタンへ逃げた当時のタリバンは完全に弱体化していたが、パキスタンやイランの支援のおかげで今はプロの軍事組織に成長していて、最近の構成員は6万人くらいいるといわれている。
和平交渉を行っている間も休戦にはならず、タリバンはアフガニスタン国内で毎日のように人を殺しまくっている。以前は政府や軍の高官をターゲットにしていたが、最近では一般人（女性の活動家を含む）を中心に襲っている。タリバンが政権中枢で力を持ったときに歯向かいそうな人間をあらかじめ殺しているといわれている。
タリバンはイスラム法の厳格な運用を目指している。現在タリバンが実効支配している地域ではだれもタリバンに文句を言えないそうだ。
女性は基本的に家を出ることはできず、外出の必要があれば親族の男性が付き添わなくてはいけない。もちろん学校に行くこともできない。
現在の政権下では女性の社会進出が進んで、労働人口の5分の1が女性になったらしい。タリバンが政権を取ればすべてが昔に逆戻りになるのでアフガニスタンの女性は脅威を感じているそうだ。
だがこの数年で現政権は交渉力をかなり失い、タリバンは力を伸ばしている。
今月再開される交渉の結果、タリバンがアフガニスタンのあり方を大きく変えるか、交渉決裂で内戦が起こる可能性がまことしやかに議論されている。
日本はこれまで開発援助でアフガニスタンを支援してきた。これは基本的に親米の現アフガニスタン政府とのつきあいだ。テロとの戦いでは基本的にアメリカに同調してきた。だが今回のアフガニスタン和平交渉の結果、タリバンのメンバーが政権中枢に入ることになれば、これまで実質的に「テロリスト」扱いしてきたタリバンを相手に日本国民の税金を原資とした開発援助が使われるという事態にもなりうる。
ちなみに、アメリカがタリバンと締結した合意では、アメリカの「同盟国」がどの国かは具体的に書いていない。これは安保条約の適用対象で日本も含まれるのかどうかはよくわからない。そうだろうと日本人が勝手に思っているだけの可能性もある。

今回は路頭🙏おじさん専用回だ。毎回コメントをしてくれたお礼に救いようのない話をする。
学歴があり頭が良く生産性の高いエリート達が高給を稼いでいるように見えるシリコンバレー。
「シリコンバレーではlayoffは日常茶飯事。皆慣れたものであっけらかんと次の職に移る」
シリコンバレーで職を失うことは母国で職を失うことよりも悲惨な状況になる場合が多々ある。
まず、Unvested RSUはすべて没収される。以前取り扱ったXさんのような場合、3年目以降のvestを目前にして首を切られようものなら号泣では済まない。

さらに、外国人の場合visaが問題となる。H1の場合「すぐさま」(実際に何日かの解釈は未決定)次の職を見つけねば帰国しなければならないし、F1 OPTの場合は数週間だ。
Lの場合は問答無用である。さらに、こうして帰国することになった後、また米国に戻ってくるのはかなりの骨だ。求職の難易度は一段跳ね上がる。H1が取りにくいインド人などは死活問題である。
GCの手続きもやり直しだ。PERMまで終わっていれば大した影響はないが、それ以前ならほぼ一からのやり直しである。
こうした状況で心底あっけらかんとできる人はそういない。表情には出さなくても、心中は絶望と怒りで満杯だ。
社員が職を追われる状況全体を指してFiredと呼ぶ人は多くいる。これは無知かoversimplificationだ。ごく一部のみが本当のFireを経験する。つまりmutualagreementが一切無くinvoluntaryなfire for causeだ。
何故か。カリフォルニアはat-will employmentであるから、社員の首を切るのはいつでも如何なる理由でも自由のはずではないか。
現実は随分と違う。例えば、ある社員のパフォーマンスが悪かったとしよう。単なる中間管理職であるその上司が"You areFIRED!"とBTTFの一場面のようにその社員をfireしたとしよう。
何の事前準備も無く、何の契約書もない状況でそれをした場合、その社員が会社をdiscriminationで提訴する可能性がある。つまり、このfireはパフォーマンスが原因であったというのはbaseless、実際はその社員のrace, religion,genderなど法律で差別が禁止されている要素によってなされたものだ、と。実際に提訴する社員は少ないし、勝訴する可能性もそれほどではない。しかしその可能性があること、その場合の会社への損害が、特にブランドが大事な大企業の場合多大であることから、のっけから示談に持ち込まれる可能性がある。その社員は大枚をせしめることになる。そうでなくても、首を切られた社員はunemploymentを受給できる(社会通念に触るようなcauseの場合を除く)ので翌年からinsuranceに影響する。たかが一社員のために全社に関わるそんな問題を起こした中間管理職の運命は推して知るべしだ。
つまり、だれの目から見てもその社員が社会通念上あるいは雇用契約上の何かに抵触したような場合(GoogleのJames Damoreが記憶に新しい)でない限り、何らかの事前準備、あるいはその社員との間の何らかの承諾書なしに首を切ることは大企業の中間管理職にとって考慮の外なのである。一部下のパフォーマンスどうこうで自分を危険にさらす人間がどれだけいるのか。いるとしたら馬鹿である。
しかし、まだブランドを気にする段階にないstartup、あるいは法律やHRにまだ詳しくないその経営者などによってこのrealfireが行われることもある。訴訟されないのはsheer luck。後でlegalやHRに釘を刺されることだろう。
これはWork Force Reduction (WFR)あるいはReduction In Force (RIF)と呼ばれる、本物のlayoffだ。
ビジネス上の理由があり、きちんと書面で事前準備をして、その部署の全部または一部をlayoffする。
LegalとHRがしっかり事前準備をしている限り、訴訟リスクはほぼ無い。但し、その部署は縮小傾向にあることが前提なので、翌年からのH1/GC手続きに制限がかかる。
個人のパフォーマンスどうこうの事由ではないので、大抵severanceは太っ腹であり、他部署へのtransferもできるだけ支援される。
社員にとっては悲劇ではあるが、全体でみるとまだ地獄の入り口にも達していない場合である。
今回の主眼である。
その社員が本当にlow performerだったとしても、fireはできない。ではどうするか。以下のどちらかが必要となる。
どのようなlayoffだっとしても、まず一つ目の選択肢が与えられる。severanceもきちんと払われる。逆に言えばそれを人質にしてこの選択を迫る。
あくまでもvoluntaryなので離職後にunemploymentは出ない。早急に次の職を探さねばならない。
社員が承諾しない場合のため、二つ目の選択肢の準備が必要だ。これこそが恐怖のPerformance Improvement Plan (PIP)だ。
その社員は即座に辞めることを拒否する代わりにPIPに入ることを選択し、一定期間その上司と何らかの「プロジェクト」に携わる。
名前が示す通り、表向きの目的は社員のパフォーマンスを向上させることだ。実際にそういう場合もあるだろう。しかし、囁かれる事例のほとんどは訴訟リスクを下げる形式付け以外の何物でもない。
上司がせっかく用意したPIPでも向上の兆候が見られなかった。明らかなlow performerでありこれを事由として解雇する、となる。
中には明らかに達成不可能な「プロジェクト」をあたえられる場合もあるし、たとえ達成してPIPを抜けたとしても今後の出世はほぼ無理だ。
PIPをもってdeath sentenceと呼ぶことが多くあるのにはこういう背景がある。ほとんど全員が宣告と同時に職探しを始める。
想像してほしい。訴訟リスク低下のためだけに、達成不可能なように、自分で辞めるように、調整された拷問を受けるのである。
しかもそれを執行するのは自分を無能と判断した上司。実際どちらが根本原因なのか他人は知る由もない。
まさに糞である。
会社としてもこんな制度があるのは好ましくない。しかし現実には存在する。何故か。
残念ながら、この場合も多い。一流大学から来た、LeetCode面接を華麗に突破した新入社員たち。
彼ら全員が実務で使える技術者になれるか? No way!
説明が難しいのだが、実務で使える技術者になれるかどうかはその人の資質による。LeetCodeをたくさん練習してきたかどうかとは殆どかかわりがない。
脳の回線が何か違うのか、実務でとことんダメな子はいくら教育してもダメなままであることがほとんどだ。そのような例を多数目にしてきた。それこそ大事なコードを書かせてはいけない人々だ。
自分は面接でLeetCodeは一切させない。Unittestについての経験、難しかったdebugの経験などについて質問することにしている。
しかし、業界全体ではLeetCodeを多用し(楽なのだ!)、LC面接に向けて特化練習してきたダメな子とそうでないが実務で使える子と、評価が逆転することになる。
ただの暗記・努力コンテストなら四書五経の暗唱と変わりないではないか。
糞すぎる。LeetCode delendaest!
Coasterというのはもともと、ある種の成功者達を指していた。Google/FBなどが買収した企業の社員であったり、長年いて大事なシステムの難しいところをすべて心得ている人だったり、とにかく会社が失うわけにはいかない人々だ。そういった人々の中には、遮二無二働くのをやめ、会社に来るだけでほとんど仕事をしない。しかしRSUはたっぷりと支給されているので辞めるわけにもいかない。Rest and vest.Retiredat office.悠々自適の人生を送る、つまりcoastingしているのだ。そういった人々の中には年間$1Mを得ているひともいる。
ある種の糞コミュニティではこの言葉の意味を広げ、単なるslackerにも適用するようになった。
真のcoasterほど会社に必須の、高ランクの社員ではないが、長期間昇進しなくても首を切られないterminallevel (GoogleのL5,AmazonのL6等)に達し、あとは流している人々だ。
会社によっては沢山いる。こういったslackerの方が真のcoasterよりも問題である。
すでに功成り名を遂げた真のcoasterは他人のプロジェクトに口を挟まず、その卓越した経験から時にpinch hitterをすることもある。彼らが高給をせしめようが、会社が傾かない限り自分はどうとも思わない。
逆に、slackerは自分の存在を正当化し、最低限必要な評価(GoogleのCME等)を得るために他人の成果を横取りしたりpoliticsに興じる場合がある。
Passive-aggressive masterも多くて非常に苛立たしい。Nefarious shxtbag.Atrocious slacker. GTFO forgod's sake!
まさに癌である。是非ともPIPられて欲しい。
本当に救いようがないのはこの場合だろう。
上記のようなlow performer, slackerという判断は誰がするのか？もちろん上司である。
ではその上司の判断は常に正しいのか? NO FUXKING WAY!
実際はできる社員が糞上司に陥れられてPIPられる話は枚挙に暇がない。
大体、本当にその社員がダメだったとして、そのような状況になった原因のある程度は面接の手法だったりプロジェクトの進め方だったりにもある。
その全責任を部下に押し付けて、自分は被害者かのようにふるまうのだ。
さて、各会社でどの程度PIPが行われているのか？
糞コミュニティ筆頭blindで"PIP"で検索して出た中から、ある程度スクロールダウンした後のキーワード発生回数を見てみよう。

単なるブラウザ上のキーワード検索なのでその会社でのPIPなのかどうかとは関係ないかもしれない。しかし、以上のFAANG+Mの中で一つだけダントツにヤバいのがいるのは確かだろう。
AmazonのPIPは際立っている。そもそも、他の企業と違い、unregrettedattrition (URA)が「最低で」5-10%になるように管理職にPIP対象者選定を強制する地獄そのものの制度があるのだ。
FBのPIPもよく知られているが、少なくとも建前上は必要な場合のみ行われるもので、最低首切り率などという制度は（自分の知る範囲では）無い。
このような状況で、自分やそのお気に入りがPIPられないように、管理職はbackstab,throw underthe bus, hire tofireに長けていくことになる。
まさに地獄である。いや、正直さや善行をappreciateする閻魔様に管理される地獄の方がどれだけ良いか。
ところで、上のランキングの最下位であるNetflix。ではPerformance-based layoffが無い楽園なのかというとまったくの逆である。
どんどん首を切る。制度として確立したPIPすらなく、単に首を切るのだ。もちろんseveranceは選択肢にあるが、多くの社員がそれを選択せず提訴したらどうなるのか、興味がわく。
この辺り、技術者間にランク分けがないのと合わせ、startupの気風を色濃く残すFAANGの変わり種といったところだろう。
PIPという点ではもっとも安全なのはGoogle. PIPがほぼ無く、L5に到達してCME以上なら他のチームに渡り歩くだけで首を切られることは無い。
それはいいことなのかどうか、また色々と風聞のあるGCPではどうなのか、という点まで行くとdependson whomyouask。興味があれば自分で情報収集してほしい。
今回までで9回、時には30分よりも大幅にかかって書くことになった。
面白がってくれた人、役立つ情報として何かを学べた人、がいれば幸いである。
他に何か、多くの人が興味を持つトピックがあれば次回を書くかもしれない。
但し、「どうしたらシリコンバレーで就職できるか」などの他人任せの質問に答えるつもりはない。自分の人生は自分で切り開いて欲しい。

Many ofits members have beenbrainwashedand are unable to recognize and judge themselvesasnormalhuman beings.
In the 1950s and 1980s, Soka Gakkai members were forcibly recruited tojoin the Soka Gakkai, andnowadays,itisestimated that about10% of theJapanese people are members of the Gakkai (Soka Gakkai members).
In particular, the Soka Gakkaihas infiltrated civil servants, specificallythe police force, thefire department, and theSelf-Defense Forces, andithas been revealed that20 to 30% of the Metropolitan Police Department's employees are members of the Soka Gakkai.
Thereisalways a certain percentage of Soka Gakkai members in elementary, middle, andhigh school classes, and in corporate workplaces, and thereforeitistaboo to criticize the Soka Gakkai in those communities.
Thisis because the Gakkai members in each community monitor the wordsand actions of their community members in the same wayas the mainlandcommunistswho have infiltratedHong Kong, and ifsomeone speaksout against the Soka Gakkai, theywill target that person and initiate a campaign of sabotage.
The sabotageis similar to theCPC's repressiveactions againsthuman rightsactivists inHong Kong, including obstructing, harassing, and following them around, anact thathas been describedas mass stalking.
Forexample, inJapan, ifyoumake a placatingstatement in a school class orat work that the Soka Gakkaiis a cult religiousgroup becauseit meets the definition of a cultgroup, members of the Gakkai in the communityget madly angry (dependingon the degree of mind control they are receiving) or bite off their anger to deny thestatement.
Then they label the personwhomade such astatementas "anti", and they alsoshare information about the antis with other members of the Soka Gakkai, andbegin to perceive themas "beings to be punishedby Buddha", to be targets of surveillance andgroupattacks.
In reality, however, the definition of a religious cultwas not defined for the Soka Gakkai but for dangerous religiousgroups suchas Aum Shinrikyo and People's Temple, which were intended to prevent ordinary people frombeing harmedby them.
The Soka Gakkai falls under the definition of a cult because the Soka Gakkaihas cult-like tendencies.
When Soka Gakkai members arepointedout to the Soka Gakkai, instead of thinking "Let'sfix what's wrong with my religiousgroup," they think of suppressing their critics (anti) and silencing them, whichis a pattern of thinking and behavior of a fanatic of a religious cult, and the saringasattack (terrorism). Ifeel that the followers of Aum Shinrikyoatthe time whenitwas founded must have had a similar pattern of thinking and behavior.
Believers in cultgroups are unconsciously mind-controlled andbrainwashed, so theydon't think that they shouldchange their way of thinking and behavior when criticismispointedout to them. In thisrespect, theirattitudeis similar to that of theChineseCommunist Party towards the demands ofhuman rightsactivists inHong Kong,i.e.,the fanatics of cultgroups suchas the Soka Gakkai are notnormalhuman beings.
By the way, thereis anorganization calledJCP inJapan, whichis also anti-American and illegal inthe UnitedStates.
Itis well known that some anti-Americanorganizations cooperate with each other in order to undermine this countryby signing apact called "Soko KyodoAgreement" and facilitating agents of anti-Japaneseand anti-Americangroups.
Itis obvious that theJCPis an anti-American terroristorganization innature and that theJCPis a cult-likeorganization whenit signs anagreement with a religious cult.

Itis clear that thisreality of the Soka Gakkaiis far removed fromthe original role of religion, whichis to provide individuals withpeace of mind and spiritual support.
As the saying goes, "like begetsfriend,"itisonlynatural for the Soka Gakkai totry to maintain a good relationshipwith theCPC.
However, manyChinesewho have worked inJapan seem to dislike the Soka Gakkai and return to their countries.
Although the Soka Gakkai employs a differentstrategy than Aum Shinrikyo andhas infiltrated manyorganizations suchas corporations, police,fire departments, theSelf-Defense Forces, and local government officials, the Soka Gakkai memberswho have infiltrated the Kasumigaseki bureaucracy and theSelf-Defense Forces are considered dangerous to the U.S. because they are inherently dangerous.
Because they areessentially anti-American andmayactas agents to cooperatewith theCPC.
There are some findings that arecommon knowledge among intellectuals in the U.S. andEurope but have not beenmade known to theJapanese people inJapan because the media and bureaucrats have stopped them.
One of themis that the Soka Gakkai headquartershas been sendingdonations from Gakkai members to Noriega (former general,now imprisoned) inPanama for large-scale tax evasion and money laundering.
Noriega received a large amount of money from Daisaku Ikeda of the Soka Gakkai and investedit inhis own drug business, spreading drugson aninternationallevel.

The fact that Daisaku Ikeda raised Noriega'sprofile in the Seikyo Shimbun during the same period must be undeniable to those Gakkai memberswho have subscribed to the Seikyo Shimbun.
In particular, there are many Gakkai membersat thelevel of policeorganizations, the Metropolitan Police Department and prefectures,who have been causing social problems and covering up crimes committedby Gakkai members inJapan.
Well, if they are in astate of unconsciousbrainwashing and mind control, theymay notbelieve the contents, andmayassume a pattern of behavior suchasgetting angry,grumpy, orattacking thewriter.

中小企業たる弊社もようやく今週から在宅勤務になったので、自炊生活を楽しみながら仕事するかと思い、朝の空いている時間にスーパーへ行った。
うどんやそばの麺が冷蔵で売っているコーナーでちょっといい袋ラーメンを買い、チャーシューでもたっぷり入れてやるかと思って探すと、あまりの高さに驚いた。普段はラーメン屋に食べに行くだけなので知らなかったが、既製品のチャーシューを単品で買うと、これほど高いものだとは。
これは高すぎる、かといって肉なしのラーメンも寂しいと思い、肉コーナーに行って豚バラ肉を200g買ってきた。同じ豚肉なのだから、ラーメンの汁に入れてしまえば、チャーシューとほとんど味は変わらないだろう、量が多いだけお得だ、という計算だった。
麺と一緒に豚肉を1パック全部茹でて、最後にスープと混ぜて、肉を頬張ったのだが、あまりの獣臭さにゴフッ、ゴフッ！！と咳き込んでしまい、鼻から麺が出た。
肉は臭すぎて、とても食べられたものではなかったが、鼻をつまみながら無理やり全部飲み込んだ。
鼻がツーンとして、胃もたれがするのを我慢しながら、何気ない風を装って午後はオンライン会議に出たが、気分は最悪だった。
いったいどうすればよかったのだろう。貧乏人は在宅勤務期間中にラーメンの獣臭さを回避する手段すらないのかと思うと悲しくなった。100円で売っている肉ワンタンでもおとなしく載せておけばよかったのだろうか。
