昨日の外国人特派員協会での記者会見での私の発言内容について、女性蔑視とのご指摘をいただいています。
私がお伝えしたかったのは「国民民主党の政策は女性にとっても良い政策だと考えていますが、実際には女性に届いていない実状があり、それについて難しさを感じています」でした。
それが、会見では「it’s very difficult to understand for them.」と言ってしまい、本来は、例えば、「it’s very difficult to deliver to them.」というような表現を使うべきでした。
英語が未熟なため、拙い表現をしてしまったことを反省しています。
決して女性蔑視をするつもりはありませんでした。
女性の方々に支持が広がっていないのは、政策をちゃんと伝え切れていない私たちの問題です。
